Moorestown 12 - Hopewell Valley 11 (Reg Season)
Details of Game #3: Apr 05, 2016
Moorestown escaped with a one goal victory today over Hopewell Valley coming from down a goal with two minutes left to defeat the Dawgs 12-11.
Moorestown got out to a 3-0 lead with possession and from there, it was a dogfight to just keep pace with HV. The Quakers did not shoot well and seemed to lack rhythm in the offensive end and was called for being on the body numerous times giving Hopewell advantage and shots.
Quinn Nicolai led the offense with four goals while Claire D'Antonio and Ava Frantz had two apiece.
Moorestown won draw control 12-9 but had two costly yellow cards that led to one goal. Lawson Hayes and Jess Goralski split time in the cage with three saves apiece. The defense continues to play well but had the most girls scored in them since last year's TOC semi final. Nineteen players saw action in today's game. Moorestown was limited to 17 shots on the day, the fewest one can remember. The Quakers average over shots 25 per game.
Credit to Hopewell Valley on playing a smart game, valuing possession and taking high percentage shots, while also seemingly getting to many loose/ground balls.
