Moorestown 17 - Allentown 2 (Playoffs)
Details of Game #22: May 26, 2016
Moorestown defeated Allentown convincingly 17-2 as 30 girls played. Moorestown now advances to the SJ Group 3 finals next Wednesday, home against Seneca.
Moorestown led 10-2 at half and was able to play most of their team as the Quakers outscored the Redbirds 7-0 in the second stanza. Quinn Nicolai led the attack with six goals while Robin Panzarella tallied three goals. Olivia Alvarez handed out two helpers.
It was a very hot day with temps hovering at 90 degrees. Moorestown wore Allentown down with their depth and the ability to gain possession on the draw 11-10. Jessie Britton had three of those draws. All three goalies saw time for Moorestown as Emily Toft (5 saves), Lawson Hayes (3) and Jess Goralski (1) played well. Moorestow limited their turnovers to only 5 which bodes well for the remaining playoff games, especially getting so many different players touches on the ball.
Moorestown's defense continues to play very well. It is playoff time and defense wins championships. Martinelli, Britton, Dadino, Wright and Lawler continue to lead the way on their third of the field.
