Moorestown 16 - Haddonfield 11 (Reg Season)
Details of Game #17: May 08, 2018
Moorestown came back from a 11-9 deficit after winning 9-3 to defeat Haddonfield 16-11 on Youth Appreciation Day.
Moorestown jumped out to a 6-1 lead early in the first half only to see it evaporate when the Dawgs won draw and worked their fast break transition to perfection, beating the Quakers back on defense.
Moorestown actually won draw control for the game 15-12 but it was Haddonfield that made the most of their possessions with their team speed. The Quakers utilized multiple players on the draw circle but it wasn't until sophomore Julia Sullivan was inserted and was able to direct the ball into open space so the Moorestown could make the late game run and score the last seven goals. Logan Lillie was steady in goal and made some momentum changing saves. Field and Frank gathered five and four draws at critical times.
The offense was led by three goals apiece from Cailin Field, Kacey Knobloch and Robin Panzarella. The latter two had two and three assists respectively. Haddonfield scored three consecutive man up goals over the final two minutes to close the gap and make it a new game heading into the half.
Moorestown closes the season Saturday versus Pennsylvania power Agnes Irwin but today's game may be a indication the Haddonfield is the team to be in Group 2 and the Quakers could be playing the Bulldogs at some later point.
