Moorestown 15 - Allentown 1 (Playoffs)
Details of Game #22: May 30, 2018
Moorestown soundly defeated Central Jersey Champ Allentown in the Group 3 semi finals 15-1 to advance to Saturday's NJ Group 3 final at Kean University versus Summit
Moorestown jumped out to a commanding 8-0 lead before the Redbirds tallied a free position goal 24 minutes into the game. Moorestown dominated everything but the draw getting an incredible six interceptions to continually change momentum.
The defense was smothering and played with great intensity while the offensive played very unselfish moving the ball to open cutters. The Quakers had at least 27 shots and would have produced more goals but Allentown's goalie Abby Howell made several outstanding saves.
Robin Panzarella led the offense with five goals followed by Kacey Knobloch's three and Cailin Field's two. Colette Smith had four assists while Panzarella and Ashley Nutt added two. Kayla Frank was her usual active self getting three interceptions and numerous outstanding checks that were deemed illegal but she continually harassed the opposition, as did Rylee Brown and the rest of the midfield redefend and 8 meter defense.
Congratulations to Allentown on an outstanding season. Moorestown now moves on to take on Summit again for the right to advance to the Tournament of Champions, the title of New Jersey's # 1 team which Moorestown has won 20 times.
